Tips and Guide for Aromatherapy
Among all the senses of the human body, scent is the longest
lasting, with the strength to affect our emotions and heal
our bodies. It also has the power of transporting the human
mind to different places. Aromatherapy is one of the most
pleasant and natural methods of enhancing both the physical
and emotional well being of the human body, by using essential
oils and natural essences.
By breathing in the essence of flowers or plants, our body
can absorb the benefits of doing so as there are diverse uses
which have been highlighted in an aromatherapy guide. Such
literature can educate the reader of how to utilize inhalants,
air fresheners and perfumes, both in the bath and also ointments.
An aromatherapy guide advises on when combining two or more
essential oils together, it will create a synergy, which will
make a blend that is more powerful than simply using single
oils at a time. Since the majority of essential oils are too
pure and concentrated to be used directly on one’s skin,
you might need to dilute them first before blending. Doing
so may involve using an unscented base which known as a carrier,
is usually an unscented massage oil, lotion, bubble bath or
shampoo which is added to a diffuser that makes use of heated
water to transport the essential oils through the medium of
air.
Based on the aromatherapy guide, you should first decide
on the blend’s reason or purpose and then pick a method
of applying an unscented base. This can be followed by choosing
three to five essential oils that would work well together
and finally, choose the amount of dosage or concentration
level of the oils which will be needed to add to the chosen
unscented base. Once you have achieved, all that remains to
be done is to add the essential oils to the unscented base,
shake, use and have fun.
The extra helpful tips that an aromatherapy guide provides
is to mostly blend oils with similar properties, without the
use of more than three to five oils to create the blend. It
also says that blending one drop at a time because each drop
can transform the blend.
On top of that, the aromatherapy guide tells us to keep track
of all the ingredients used in the blend as this will enable
one to recreate the blend later on. Initially, always make
blends in small sizes, like ten to thirty drops till such
time as the right desired blend has been achieved.
