Disperse the Scent with an Aromatherapy Oil Burner
As more and more people are exposed to the benefits of aromatherapy,
they are now searching for new ways to enjoy the healing and
often mood changing qualities of the practice. One way found
to help disperse the healing scents throughout a room is with
the use of an aromatherapy oil burner.
The scent has been used as a mood enhancer has been indicated
in numerous studies. It has been found that the sense of smell
most often offers the earliest memories and that particular
smells can trigger certain memories. In order to trigger those
memories faster, the use of an aromatherapy oil burner can
disperse the scent into a room much faster.
While some people depend on tea lights to heat the essential
oils, there are others who prefer electricity. By placing
one or two drops of essential oil into the top of an aromatherapy
oil burner, it will heat the oil, causing it to evaporate
faster and, therefore, be dispersed into the room at a faster
rate.
Ceramic, metal and soapstone oil burners are available in
different shapes, sizes, colors and styles, of course, you
are bound to find one that fits into your décor. By
dropping some essential oils into the top bowl of your aromatherapy
oil burner, and lighting a tea light candle underneath, the
oils will be heated and scent will be spread out in the room.
Electrically heated oil burners also come different sizes
and designs and function much the same way with the one disadvantage
of the electric aromatherapy oil burner having to remain in
closer proximity to an electric outlet.
A safety advantage about an electric aromatherapy oil burner
is the fact that it has no open flame and as such, can left
in use throughout the night if you wish to keep your room
refreshed in the scent of your choice. Another type of almost-electric
aromatherapy oil burner is a ceramic circle with a channel
running around in which sits on top of just about any size
light bulb. The oil drops are then placed in the trough and
as the light bulb heats the ceramic, the scent is delivered
throughout the room.
There is now even a plug-in type aromatherapy oil burner,
which works similarly to other scented plug-ins, except for
the part where most with changeable pad pre-treated with scented
essential oils of your choice. Once a new pad is put in and
it is plugged into an outlet, it says that the room will begin
to smell the effects in about five minutes and it will fill
a 500 square foot room for about three hours.
