The Avian Influenza Symptoms in Birds & Humans

Avian influenza is viral infection that happens in birds and is usually carried by wild birds which seem not to be affected by the same but infect the domesticated birds such as the chickens, turkeys and ducks once they get in touch with them.

Symptoms in Birds

Avian influenza will affect the internal organs of the domesticated birds hence causing symptoms like ruffled feathers and low egg production. In the more severe cases the birds will die within 36-48 hours of contacting the virus.

The other bird flu symptoms are lack of normal activity from the birds and no normal appetite. If you are not attentive you can easily overlook the avian influenza symptoms, as they are not very obvious until the bird dies. Avian influenza does not happen in humans but there have been cases of humans affected by the same from either eating affected bird or eggs.

The symptoms of avian influenza in humans are such as severe muscle ache, headache, vomiting and other flu like symptoms. If you see any of the above mentioned symptoms, you need to contact a doctor as soon as possible for immediate treatment for the same.
