Everyone enjoys a good back massage, and it is not hard to
learn how to give a proper and relaxing back massage. Even

on how to give a back massage is still possible.
In order to give a comfortable back massage, you need to
learn the following steps. First of all, have the person who
is going to get the back massage to lie on their stomach on
a firm and comfortable surface. All you need is just to make
sure that the person is lying you have access and can reach
across their entire back without having to reach.
Then, you can stand or kneel by their side, place one of
your hands on their lower back and the other hand up between
the shoulder blades, over the heart. You can warm up their
back by applying pressure with your thumbs along both sides
of their spine at the same time. Always start from the lower
back and work your way up to the neck area, instead of starting
from the neck area.
Apply the massage oil delicately. To do this, just one long
stroke and sliding your palms down either side of the spine
to the pelvis, then scoop your hands out around their hips
and back up the sides to the shoulder blades. Please note
that you need to constantly maintain contact with the back,
and always glide your hands along the back rather than remove
completely when move to another area.
Pay attention and work on areas that feel hard or tight,
the tight areas are known as knots and working these out will
immediately make the person feel looser more relaxed.
Then, you need to know that always perform clockwise circular
friction with your fingertips along the muscles which are
close to the spine and around the shoulder blades, since these
are usually the tensest areas.
Rotate your arms gently, and do it one at a time, so that
the shoulder joints can be loosened and blood flow can be
enhanced.
There are many advantages and goodness of a back massage,
including relaxation, increased body awareness, improved circulation,
and improved lymphatic drainage for release of toxins.
Just keep in mind that, when you are giving a back massage,
you should not put any direct pressure on the spine, and try
to avoid any broken skin, blisters, or areas of possible infection.
