Bad Habits Causing
Stress
Understand how certain bad habit actually causes
us more stress rather than helping us to relieve stress.
When a person has been practicing bad habits, you can bet
that this person will have stress throughout their lifetime
or is currently under too much stress.
Bad Habit #1: Smoking
If a person is puffing away like there is no tomorrow, s/he
probably does not know that smoking cigarettes ceases the
vitals functioning capabilities, which gradually affects the
heart, lungs, and other vital organs. It all tells in an autopsy
if a person smoked or not when the person is opened up. If
the person was, a smoker, the organs in the body and the person’s
lungs will be black. We all know that a person’s internal
organs are pinkish when we are healthy, and when they turn
black, you can imagine how bad it is now.
Bad Habit #2: Alcoholic & Chemicals
Many people will think that a glass of beautiful wine is
the best way to end a miserably stressful day. Although red
wine is said to benefit heart health, but it would not be
so if a person drinks excessively. When a person drinks heavily
it will start to affect the central nervous system and reduce
a person’s ability to cope with stress. Heavy drinkers
are putting risking themselves by destroying the body and
potential going to jail in the future. As you can see, bad
habits can cause stress and will cause even more stress.
When we are born, we are often healthy and if we make an
effort to avoid bad habits bad habits that can cause potential
harms, then our life will be rewarding. And if you are free
of chemicals and substances, such as drugs, that can cause
you harm, you will most likely have the ability to make good
decisions that offers you a bright future.
Bad Habit #3: Eating Excessively
Although it seems that eating will relieve your stress, but
eating too much is also a bad habit that needs to be modified.
If a person often overeats and never bother to exercise, then
this person will be prone to obesity, heart failure, strokes,
diabetes and all weight related issues. We see this causes
problems and problems are one of the elements that cause our
stress to increase.
However, one of the obvious bad habits that create potential
danger to yourself, is still stress itself. When a person
is lacking the ability to manage his or her life and easily
get stressed, the bad habit will be revived and then cause
harm to body. By coping, it means we should know how to manage
our lives successfully without creating stressors that cause
our stress to increase. Learning to deal with stressors can
help us to live a more productive lifestyle and provide us
hope when times are hard to deal with.
While it is hard to eliminate a bad habit since it obviously
has become a ritual, but you should work toward reducing and
finally eliminating the habits that cause us stress. For example,
if you are used to smoking a cigarette after each meal, then
practice by telling your self that today you are just going
to drink some juice instead of smoking after a meal. If caffeine
opens your smoking cravings up, then start drinking orange
juice, milk or some other healthy beverage. If you are a heavy
drinker, tell yourself every day that your life could mean
a lot to others, and you should do something to save your
life.
Take some time off, sit down and review the problems you
are facing, when you break them down, you will know what are
the priority and level of each stress, If you find yourself
having problems of paying your bills on time, and it is one
of the stressors, then you should make it an effort to pay
the bills on time. When you do not pay your bills on time,
you might get late charges occur or shut-off notices. From
here, we know that, most of the time, we cause our own problems
which will initiate stress. Sitting down and evaluating each
situation and decisions can help to bring forth reward by
seeing the problems we have created ourselves. Then, learn
how to eliminate the problems in our lives.
For example if you are often late for work, then you know
it is can cost you your job. You may think that losing your
job is not a big deal, since you can get an employment elsewhere,
but you must know that, losing your job is not the sole problem
in the picture.
If you go on with your habit of being late for work, you
will get a bad reputation with businesses. Business owners
talk amongst other owners. Now you know that permanent displacement
is potential, future poverty, potential crime, and so forth
can all cause stress. We are adding to the list of problems
by ignoring or not accepting that our bad habits, which are
the leading cause of uncontrolled stress. When in fact, is
actually our decisions that affect our stress level.
