Body Building Diet
Not Sure About The Diet Difference Between A Pro
And A Hobbyist? Read On To Find Out.
To those who are new to body building, the body building
diet is often confusing. These people are pursuing body building
as a means of promoting health and as a hobby, they are different
to those who are pursuing a career as a professional bodybuilder.
Generally, there is not much difference between a professional’s
and a hobbyist’s body building diet since the diet has
been designed with scientific entity. However, there are some
slight changes between the diet of the pro and the amateur.
Calories Count
Evidently, the number of calories that a professional consume
in a body building diet will be notably higher than the amateurs,
this is because the body builder professional probably weighs
in excess of 220lbs and they are all made up of muscles, low
body fat. You might not know, the muscle burns calories like
crazy, so a pro body builder will not gain weight eating 7,000
calories a day.
Or simply, the professional burns up their calories by exercising,
and the metabolic process of the muscle will demolish those
calories like crazy. As for a hobbyist, s/he would probably
want to keep a calorie level to maintain one’s weight,
which is usually 2,000 a day for most people, while some may
be higher but usually it is not recommend to go beyond that
amount.
Water Intake
Another major factor in the diet of body building is the
water consumption. Although water does our body good, but
you should keep in mind that excessive drinking will cause
dramatic changes to our body, such as excessive water weight.
Besides, water also helps to flush the kidneys so that kidney
will not need help from the liver to do its job. When the
liver is free, it will metabolize more fat. Lastly, our body
is primarily composed of water, so, with extra consumption
of water to it will allow the body to function well. This
is why body builders will drink up to three gallons of water
a day! As for the hobbyists, all they really need is only
between 64 and 100 ounces of water per day.
Before The Contest
During or before the contest period, the bodybuilders will
do a great amount of cardio and will radically cut calories
and carbs. They will also alter their diet to develop a defined
look for a judge.
Since most of the hobbyist is not competing and is not taking
in massive calories during an off- season, it is okay for
them to skip this part of the body building diet and simply
eat a more standard recommended diet during the year. Alternatively,
one can do a modified version of this body building diet prior
to the beach days of summer for great results.
