Tips For Cardio Safety That You Should Know

No doubt, cardio activities are the best way to enhance your health better physique. Through out all these years, cardio exercise has gained worldwide recognition and popularity as a great fat loss and physical fitness program.

There are just too many advantages that cardio exercises can bring cardiovascular exercises can help to lower blood pressure, increase the number of good cholesterol in the body, promote better blood circulation and also enhance overall mental and physical fitness.

Cardio exercise does not only mean aerobic dances, there are plenty of recreational sports that can be used to replace these typical workout sessions. The other activities include swimming, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, golfing and skiing are other fun ways to include friends and family in your healthy lifestyle. However, you should keep these safety tips in mind to avoid unnecessary injuries.

1. Cardio exercise after a full meal can compromise impairs the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles defeating one of the essential purposes of doing aerobic exercise, and that is to improve blood flow. If you carry out any physical exercises right after dinner, it can cause gastric discomfort like stomach cramps. Food will take time to digest and you should allow time in between food intake and physical activities to allow proper digestion. Intense workout sessions need more time for digestion than a lighter meal does.

2. If you live in a tropical area such as sunny California, or if you are doing your cardio during the summer season, it would be better to wait for a few weeks before you start your cardio workout giving your body enough time to acclimatize to the heat. If it is possible, avoid performing aerobic workouts during the hottest parts of the day which is 10am and 4pm, during the summer. Drink plenty of water before and after your cardio exercise. You might need to decrease the intensity of your aerobic routine especially if you workout in very hot environments, do not forget to take 10-15 minutes rest for every 45-60 minute cardio.

3. If you are used to jogging in areas near the road or interstate, maybe you need to think about the rate of pollution and carbon monoxide. You need to know that when you are exercising, you are taking more breaths than you normally do and your heart is beating faster than usual. Breathing in pollutants like carbon monoxide from car exhaust & sulfur dioxide can be easily absorbed by the lungs and may lead to some respiratory ailments such as asthma and bronchitis.

4. Before you start the cardio exercise, you should perform warm-up and stretching exercise to condition the muscles. These first two steps are very important and must be done during every cardio session. Warm-up and stretching will make sure that you do not damage your muscles during the exercise. If you proceed directly to the cardio exercise without doing warm-ups and stretching, you are risking to injuring yourself.

Aerobics or cardiovascular exercises are fun and great ways to lose weight for a sexy and fit body. To achieve the optimal result, one should exercise correctly and practice a healthy lifestyle.
