Facial Hair Removal Options For Men & Women

All of us are born with facial hair. Some people have more facial hair than others, and it becomes an ugly sight. And on some faces, there's far more hair than is necessary or desired. Is this what you are facing now and you wish that there were no facial hair on your face?

No matter how bothersome facial hair is, it is really a personal matter. The eyebrows, the chin, the upper lip, the hair inside the nose, and the hair that covers the face can be bothering us, especially for women and especially if the hair is darker than your skin.

So, now, you may be interested to know what is the best method to remove unwanted facial hair? Whether it's truly effective or it's just a tradition, shaving is the method of choice for today's man for removing unwanted facial hair. Just take a look at the huge selection of razors available today to support the fact. Shaving creams, gels, foams and other products have been made to aid the shaving process and help reduce skin irritation. However, it is not so for the women who suffer with unwanted facial hair, their choices are much limited. Many men too are looking for alternatives to remove their facial hair.

Women with excessive facial hair tend to have hair on the upper lip, down the sides of the face, as well as on the chin. Shaving is not the best option for women as it is for men. So, what can a woman do? Since facial hair is typically much more than a few wayward hair follicles, plucking the hair off these areas isn't an effective method. It's time-consuming and painful! Instead, what’s needed here is a method designed for more widespread removal like depilatories and waxing or even electrolysis or laser treatment.

Depilatories are an inexpensive method for hair removal, but it does not last. When used, you must be extremely careful as these products can irritate and even burn facial skin. Due to the fact that depilatories only dissolve visible hair, you will have to perform this method frequently when new hair appears. This process is good because it is inexpensive and can be done in the privacy of your own home.

Electrolysis and laser are better options as they permanently damaged at the base of the hair follicle so that hair growth no longer occurs. However, these two options are expensive and it requires repeated sessions to remove all hair. But considering that relatively small surface areas are involved, many people are able to afford the costs, the risks and the discomfort involved.

There are many benefits with waxing and it is loved by many men and women. Like with tweezers, when waxing the hair is 'plucked' from its root. This method will not damage the actual hair follicle, so new hair growth will continue to happen, but unlike depilatories, new hair growth won't appear on the skin surface as fast. In fact, it will not be visible until several weeks later. And, if you're brave and skilled enough, waxing facial hair can be done by all yourself, however many people choose to have someone else perform this procedure.
