Home Remedies for Green Tea

From using brown sugar to reduce heartburn to using corn syrup to manage nausea, there are a plethora of natural home remedies which available for people who want to use alternatives to over the counter medicines.

Green tea is in fact more than just a tasty, hot beverage. It has also become an integral part of home remedies everywhere, ranging from skin and teeth care to general preventative procedures.

1. Green Tea for Skin Care

Green tea has been found to be beneficial to our skin, especially acne and eczema. For acne, this tea is a great, cheap option to expensive toners or astringents. Most of the time, it is combined with ingredients to make a concoction which can be applied with a cotton ball to clean skin. Simply drinking this tea has also proven to work for some to reduce the presence of acne, although you do have to be careful of increasing the intake of caffeine in your diet, as this is related to an increase in breakouts. It can also be mixed with other ingredients, such as olive oil, to create a treatment for eczema.

2. Homemade Mouthwash

Besides skin care, green tea can be used as part of a homemade mouthwash. Of course, you need to stay away from sugar and honey. What property of this light drink helps keep your teeth healthy? It’s the presence of fluoride which can prevent tooth decay and strengthen teeth and gums. Mixing the brewed tea with spring water makes the most basic recipe, but it can be combined with other ingredients to make intriguing flavors of homemade mouthwashes.
