Electrolysis, Thermolysis or the Blend Method

Hair Removal: Electrolysis, Thermolysis or the Blend Method?

There are so many choices of hair removal, therefore, it can be a little changing when it comes to choosing a suitable technique for yourself. Some of the options that are available are such as electrolysis, thermolysis and the blend method. These are in addition to all the other methods that claim to be the best.

So, how do you decide which method of hair removal will work best for you? Before you jump to whichever method, you need to research all the options available and take into consideration your skin sensitivity and your tolerance to pain. Now, let’s review the choices available.

Electrolysis is considered as a permanent hair removal technique which works by destroying individual hair follicles so that the hair can never regrow. This is how it works. Must be careful about not puncturing your skin, a slender probe is will be inserted into a hair follicle. Once inserted, an electrical current is passed through to the end of the probe, at which point a chemical reaction takes place. The reaction then causes the salt and water molecules located in the follicle to change into lye which helps to loosen the hair and causes permanent damage to the follicle base. The loosened hair is then gently pulled out with tweezers. This process is repeated at every follicle where hair is to be removed.

While this process is known as the best for permanency, electrolysis however can be painful and expensive. Due to the tedious process, this method is not recommended for large areas of removal. On top of that, it usually requires numerous treatments as well. It's recommended that this process is performed by a licensed professional because if done improperly, the skin can be permanently damaged or the follicle may not be properly altered which can lead to hair regrowth.

Similar to inserting a probe into a hair follicle, it is how thermolysis works in a hair removal process. Once inserted, the water molecules inside the follicle bounce around and create heat. It is the heat that destroys the base, or the dermal papilla of the follicle that prevents future hair growth. This more speedy hair removal method is not as effective as electrolysis, and might cause burning and scarring which is why it should only be performed by a professional.

The 'blend' method of hair removal involves the use of the above two hair removal techniques to result a quicker and more efficient process. This process begins to be more and more popular. Combining the heating element of thermolysis with the molecular transformation produced from electrolysis creates heated lye and it's the heated lye that causes the follicle base to be damaged. On top of being being quicker and more efficient, the blend hair removal process works on most types of hair.

Electrolysis, thermolysis and the blend method are all the proven effective techniques for body hair removal. Since these procedures involve the use of needles or probes, so, it is important to make sure that you use only sterilized equipment to reduce the risk of infection. And, only trained professionals should perform these procedures to reduce unwanted risks.
