All That You Need to Know About Influenza

There is plenty of influenza information available, it is usually refers to as a common respiratory sickness which has affected millions of people and usually happens from November to April.

The only effective means of preventing yourself from the flu is to get annual vaccinations and wash your hands regularly, this is one of the most effective ways to reduce the risk of contracting flu as it reduces the incidence of influenza. Based on the influenza information available, there is also a new dangerous influenza which is known as the avian influenza which is sometimes also referred to as bird flu and there is also pandemic influenza to contend with.

Avian Influenza

There is some avian influenza information which says that it is a contagious viral infection which may infect all species of birds and, in lesser chance, the mammals as well. The disease called influenza which can infect a person’s respiratory system and infections are usually much more serious than those caused by other respiratory viruses and include coughing, sore throats combined with fever, headaches, and muscle aches. Some can even evolve to life threatening condition!

Based on the information about influenza it has been gleaned that influenza can be transmitted by minute droplets of moisture which spread from the respiratory tract of a patient through coughing, sneezing or even by talking.

The viruses may enter a vulnerable person who breathes them in and the virus may enter the cells of the respiratory tract and then they increase in numbers in an alarming state. In most cases, these victims would fall ill within two or three days.

In order to prevent influenza, it is best that you are protected from the virus by boosting your immunity and getting the annual vaccine shot. .
