Laser Hair Removal Risks

Are There Any Risks In Laser Hair Removal Risks?

Similar to all other surgeries, there are bound to have certain laser hair removal risks involved with a laser hair removal treatment or procedure.

This is why for those who are planning to have a procedure like this done should understand the possible laser hair removal risks, so that they can be well informed on the matter before undergoing the treatment.

Although there are relatively few possible laser hair removal risks, but these still must be considered about. In fact, completely related to the possible laser hair removal risks, two women even died recently from excessive use of numbing cream before getting hair removal done at clinics. Although this is obviously a completely rare occurrence, it still shows the possible risks involved.

There are other risks such as burning of the skin, or a discoloring on darker skin due to the use of the laser. This is even more likely to happen if the doctor is not qualified or experienced enough, and so this is why you will want to make extra sure that the staff of the clinic you are going to is extremely qualified and deserving of your business and your trust.

There are no medications or bandages are necessary after the procedure although you might notice some redness and swelling on the skin for quite some time after it is completed.

In addition, stinging may occur for the first couple of days, and some people may even experience a slight crusting of the skin. If you are experiencing this, then you should make sure to keep the entire area moist with Vaseline, which is the most recommended option for this.

There are certain things that you should avoid doing after the treatment to reduce and avoid the possible side effects as much as possible, and the avoiding exercise and exertion for the first few days since perspiration from exertion may increase irritation caused by the laser.

And also, you should try to avoid exposure to direct sunlight for at least several weeks after the treatment, and if you are going to be in the sun, then you have to make sure that you wear proper sunscreen and avoid waxing or plucking hairs in between treatments, and most importantly, do not pick at the skin in the treated areas.
