Liposuction Procedure
How Much Do You Know About The Procedure
Of Liposuction?
All of us know that today liposuction is one of the most
common and wanted methods for cosmetic surgery. But, not all
of us are aware of the process involved in the liposuction
procedure? Do you know that there are certain risks involved
and what can you do to prevent these? There are many questions
about the liposuction procedure that need to be answered.
Now, let us go through some of these questions and get some
clarity on this method.
How Is The Liposuction done?
Basically, liposuction involves the cosmetic removal of fat
layers from the designated parts of your body. Usually, liposuction
can be performed on the face, neck, upper arms, abdomen, thighs,
buttocks, and calves. This procedure is usually done under
local anesthesia, though sometimes it is done with general
anesthesia as well.
Firstly, the fat is removed by making extremely tiny incisions
in the skin where the fat is to be removed, after that, a
series of injections are given carefully under the skin through
which the fat layer is stretched and expanded with an anesthetic
fluid. And finally, a thin hollow stainless steel is inserted
and the fat will be extracted with a powerful vacuum suction.
Speed Up Your Healing
Once the liposuction procedure is completed, it might take
a few days to a few weeks for the skin to regain its natural
look. You can speed up the healing process by following a
few important post-surgery instructions.
Firstly, you should get up and walk as soon as the anesthesia
wears off. In fact, most of the patients are able to walk
away from the hospital after a few hours when the liposuction
is completed. However, if you have large area of fats removed,
it is advisable to stay overnight in the hospital for observation.
In these cases there a slight possibility of going into shock
and when this happens immediate medical attention would be
required.
Secondly, liposuction compression garment should be used
as soon as you come out of the liposuction surgery. This garment
will help in the rapid drainage of the anesthetic fluid and
as well as in the restoring of the skin’s elasticity
in the shortest time possible.
Thirdly, you should avoid exercises and lifting of any weights
during the recuperation period which will be somewhere between
2 weeks and 2 months.
Liposuction procedure has been known as the cosmetic surgery
with the least amount of side effects or risks. However, there
are still certain risks that you should be aware of, such
as blood clot formations, bruising, loss of sensation, and
lumpiness in the area.
Besides liposuction, electrostimulation
is also an alternative of body shaping that you can consider.
Electrostimulation means electric impulses applied by means
of electrodes to the skin, directly on the muscles, which
contract rhythmically and perform real and true physical exercise.
