Magic Pill For Weight
Loss
The Magic Pill For Weight Loss & Better Health
Diet pills used to have a bad reputation. It is not hard
to understand why since they meant ‘speed’, which
works to speed you up the process, increasing energy to an
often frenetic level while cutting your appetite.
It could be fatal if you are overdose or overuse of these
pills. Yes, they did make people lose weight, sometimes quite
a lot of weight. But at the same time, there are many health-related
problems together with the amount of weight loss.
Today, the new generation of diet pills is much different.
People tend to buy ‘natural’ diet pills manufactured
from herbal preparations, and these are safer, but of course,
they are not as efficient as the diet pills of the past. But
of course there is always a market for them due to the fact
that people love quick fix.
One new diet pill is called “Acomplia”, with
generic name ‘rimonabant’. It is meant to block
the brain’s hunger receptors, and as a result, you will
not feel that you are hungry. But, it too depends on your
cause of weight-gain, and it may or may not work for you.
Some of us eat too much because we make poor food choices
to counter hunger. There are some others that engage in emotional
eating, even when they are not hungry.
The diet pill may or may not do much for your individual
diet program. Studies have shown that this diet pill does
help you lose weight to a certain extent. In a European study,
the subjects who took Acomplia lost twenty pounds as opposed
to only 8 in a control group who received a placebo or ‘dummy’
pill. This was a one-year study that included 1,500 people
with all of them had weight to lose.
The manufacturers of this pill expected the positive effect
on weight loss on individuals. The researchers were surprised
to find that it had another benefit as well. This diet pill
proved effective in lowering ‘bad’ cholesterol
(triglycerides) by 7%, and even more drastically, it raised
‘good’ cholesterol (HDL) by 27%. This means that
this pill, independent of its weight loss benefits, it can
also help to improve your cholesterol profile and at the same
time lowering your risk of heart disease and cardiovascular
disease. Some of this change in cholesterol level may have
been due to the fact that Acomplia does assist weight loss,
and weight loss will help to improve the cholesterol. However,
it does seem as though it would do so even if no considerable
weight loss is sustained.
Interestingly, this pill is also effective for some other
addictive behaviors, such as smoking. The reason has not been
found, but its physical effects are limited to the elimination
of reduction of hunger. It seems as though there might be
link between overeating and smoking
Acomplia is not yet available to the pubic until next year.
Ask your doctor about it if you think it seems to be useful
for you, don’t forget to do some research as well. It
seems to be promising without side effects. But, time will
tell.
At the end of the day, it is simply wrong to just rely on
a pill for weight loss. The best policy is to change your
diet and exercise regularly and this is a fact that cannot
be changed. That having been said, however, it does seem as
though this pill is an effective tool to help you along the
way. Consult your doctor about Acomplia, particularly if your
cholesterol profile could use a bit of improvement!
