Skin Aging & Wrinkles

Struggling To Fight Skin Aging And Wrinkles? Learn How To Take Care Of Your Skin Now!

Skin aging and wrinkles are probably the most fearful words to any ladies. Although you can’t do anything much to prevent these tell-tale signs of aging, there are few ways to delay their appearance. In fact, our skin starts to age as soon as we are born, so, it is never too early to fight skin aging and wrinkles!

Causes Of Skin Aging

As we grow older, the important skin components such as elastin and collagen will begin to break apart and which is when our skin begins to lose its elasticity, its underlying structure and its ability to spring back into shape. As a result, our cell reproduction also slows down with age, which will encourage the growth of fatty cells and oil glands. When this process begins to happen, production of emulsions designed to keep skin moist slows and skin starts to become dry. With the help of gravity, soon the jowls, arms and eyelids begin to sag. Now, isn’t this scaring you?

There are also other environmental factors that contribute to the beginning of skin aging and wrinkles. The few factors that we can identify are cigarette smoking, air pollution, laughing and frowning, and unprotected exposure to the sun all contribute to aging skin and wrinkles. What's different about these environmental factors is, most of them are under our ability to control and reduce. Although there is no solution to stop the aging process, the factors that contribute to its acceleration can be stopped.

One of the best we can do for our skin is by applying sun screen to prevent our skin from damaging by the harmful rays. These ultraviolet rays can penetrate deep into unprotected layers of skin. This is because they produce radiation which can seriously and permanently damage the cells that form skin tissue. UVA rays are believed to be capable of releasing oxidants, unstable particles that cause extensive cell damage.

Other than the harmful rays, cigarette smoking also promotes the release of oxidants as well. Oxidants are the agents that slow the production of new collagen and elastin. One of the best ways to protect against their negative effects is to consume a diet rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. If you have not known, smoking also restricts the blood flow in the epidermis so skin doesn't get the quantity of nutrients it needs to stay healthy.

Treatment For Aging Skin And Wrinkles

One of the best skin care routine for anti-aging and wrinkles is probably keeping our skin clean and moist. This is in fact more effective than most of the higher-priced solutions that promise to end wrinkling. Always wash your face with warm water and gentle cleaner and pat skin dry so that some moisture remains. Hot water and harsh soaps deplete skin of essential oils and increase dryness. Also avoid products with dyes or perfumes which may further irritate skin. You must remember that, always remove your eye make up gently as the skin surrounding the eyes is very delicate and prone to wrinkling. And there you go, when you follow all these, you are on your way to fighting wrinkles and skin aging.

Aging is an absolute process that we cannot stop, the same goes to the wrinkles. So, remember to protect your skin by living a healthy lifestyle. Eat right, exercise, don't smoke and avoid excess alcohol consumption.
