Stress Calls For Behavior
Adjustments
As we know, old habits die hard. But, sometimes
we need to adjust our behavior to minimize our stress.
Sometimes, when we find difficulty to cope with common stresses,
then perhaps we should change our behaviors. Behaviors are
how we act in life and what we think or believe is right or
wrong.
If you have practiced certain behaviors for all your life,
they have become a habit that you probably need to adjust
since incorrect behavior patterns increase stress. If you
are aware of the behaviors that contribute to your stress,
then you are fine, but if your subconscious is holding the
behavior patterns hostage, then you have a problem.
Consciousness allows us to see what is lying ahead of us,
understand the information, observing things around us Information
that is kept in the back of our mind is called subconscious.
If you wonder why it is important to see the subconscious
to understand stress, let me tell you why.
When we face problems that cause us stress, the answers to
the problems are often buried on our mind. When we review
our subconscious mind, we may be able to acquire resources
that we can seek for to solve our problems. Although sometimes
the conscious may not have the resources that will lead us
to success, therefore we must know how to research our subconscious
mind to pull out resources.
Sometimes we may be searching for answers in vain, but we
will never get the answers if our subconscious has controlled
our mind. We must continue education and learning as much
as possible about human nature, survival, basic needs and
etc. As we learn all these, the information processed will
be stored in our conscious or subconscious mind. The information
will be there permanently until we recall it some day. It
is just like how the information is stored in the computer,
and until we search for it some day and it will only resurface
since the information we recall can potentially help us to
solve our problem.
The relation between stress and stressor is, we can see frustration
is the stress and that the inability to find what we want
is the stressor. Very often, we will attempt to think harder
to recall the information, or re-reading the information related
to the subject.
And, if we have been practicing a behavior then we will have
to search both the conscious and subconscious mind to review
the problems, the solutions, and pull up our resources to
make changes to our behavioral that cause us stress. But,
of course, to change a behavior that we have been practicing
all our life, we need the willingness and determination to
change, and the ability to accept the changes.
Stress can be a good thing sometimes because it helps us
to see and plan ahead. But, when you let the stress to be
out of control, it can harm us both mentally and physically,
and cause several health related problems such as heart attacks,
strokes or etc. If there is a need to adjust your behaviors
to reduce stress, by all means, I am sure you do not want
your life to be ruled by stress.
