Stress Taking Charge
When you allow stress to take charge of your life,
you will see ugly results. Read the article for a good stress
management scheme that saves your life.
I am going crazy. I am at my wits end. Why is everyone putting
high hope on me? Sound familiar? If you always hear these
voices in your head, it is obvious that stress is taking over
someone’s life when they are screaming these words in
the air.
Now, take a deep breath and tell yourself that you will not
let stress overrule you. No one expects you to do more than
you could. You are hoping too much out of yourself, and there
fore your nerves are in a rumble, so you need to relax to
stay calm. Sounds better? It is true that you can keep telling
yourself this to stop stress from overruling your life.
Each of us is born with survival skills, which includes the
ability to continue breathing even in the worst times. We
often hear stories about how the different stress management
techniques can help us to cope with stress. We also hear numerous
stories about stressors and how to eliminate them.
The stressors exist in the common. However, we need to analyze
the stressors since all of us handle stress differently. What
do you do when you feel stress? Do you head directly to the
local bar telling yourself that you deserve a good drunk for
what you have been through? You might not be an alcoholic,
but at times, you reach for the bottle to relieve your stress.
Some experts would claim the existence of an alcohol problem
while others who are less judgmental can understand the way
of this person relieving stress by subduing the problems.
All os us can be titled as alcoholics since the criminal
justice system and mental health experts decide who is a drunk
and who is not. We may have full control of our life and make
a couple of bad decisions down the road. The so-called experts
thought they have all the when in fact, they too head off
to the bar after work and drink, and drive home after a couple
of alcohol beverages.
Is this a fact to prove that we are all stressed? Now, you
may not have a problem with alcohol but apparently, you have
a failure in your stress management scheme. Something has
gone wrong and it is time for you to review your life and
study the possible problems and causes.
Retrieve all your resources and study them carefully to determine
if any one of them can help to eliminate your problem. You
can start a list by writing down all your problems. Ok, so
what if you do not resort to alcohol when stress occurs? Would
you do something harmful to relieve your stress? If this is
what you are going through now right then you better sit down,
consider the consequences of your behaviors, and accept the
fact that you really have a problem and a failure in your
stress management scheme.
Maybe you will resort to eating but, you must know that binge
eating is just as bad as sleeping around or drinking excessively.
Now we see that we have three stressors in line to review,
which is, alcohol, stress and food. Let’s see now, the
first guy decides to drink excessively when stress is overpowering.
Has he decided to skip alcohol and recontrol his life?
Now he put his problems on temporary hold while the second
person who binges is hoping that the food terminates her misery.
We can see that these two people are in similar situation,
but none of them has a stress management scheme that will
hold them up during bad times.
It is time to take control of stress and have full control
of your life. Stress is can be good or bad and ugly! And,
when you allow stress to control your life, the results will
be ugly
