Stressful Deadlines
Deadlines are stressful, if you have a deadline
to meet today, spend a few minutes reading this stress management
tips before you get your motor running.
Deadlines are generally stressful since we are expected to
finish a task on time. Deadline, if you understand the various
meaning in this single term, you will see how the word deadline
alone can cause stress.
One of the definitions of deadline is a line drawn around
a penitentiary that a prison avoids because if someone crosses
the line, he or she is risking their life. The prison guards
are dutied to shoot anyone that tries to cross that line if
the prisoner refuses to stop. That is scary.
However, deadlines in a writing world means the time following
to a copy will not be accepted until the older issue of publication
has ended or begun. So, what makes this word so threatening?
First of all, we understand that the process includes many
factors, such as expectations, fear, stress, or the person
feels incompetent due to overloading work, and tough decisions
to make and etc. Think about it, don’t you find this
funny at how one little innocent word can rip a person apart
to meet the obligations? In other words, deadlines are a date
designated to make sure that a certain task is completed.
If you look at the terms, then you will see that there are
stressors involved. It is different individually, but, most
of us do feel stress while trying to meet a deadline. But,
when we are under stress, we are actually hindering our capabilities
to help us to complete a task early, because all the information
and resourced in our head can’t be retrieved.
Or simply, you are just wasting you time stressing by blocking
your ability to focus and complete your work. Some of us are
stressed over deadlines because we are cannot stop thinking
about other things such as the date tonight, the kids, spouse
or other responsibilities or activities in our daily life.
When you are trying to concentrate at work, there is no time
for you to worry about things in the future, you should focus
on the job to finish in time so you can relax until the next
obligation or activity comes.
If you often wonder if you spouse is cheating on you while
trying to meet a deadline, then you are setting a trap for
yourself to fall into the overwhelming stress, which leads
to bad consequences in most cases.
Always keep your mind clear when you are doing your job.
The demand is not totally bad if you think about it. It might
be your daily task and you do this job every day or most days
and it has become your routine at your workplace. Deadlines
are just innocent tools that an employer, author, editor or
publisher and even businesses use every day.
It is so common that you should go easy with it rather than
feel it like a threat. If you have trouble meeting deadlines
all the time, then it is time you might want to take a moment
and recollect your thoughts together to identify the root
of cause. Once you see where and why the stress exists, you
can then compare and weed out the problems, making space to
meet your deadlines.
It is indeed tiring having to do something let alone expected
to do something and complete it at a specific time. If a person
tends to act on pulse, it often makes it tougher for these
types of persons to settle down to meet the deadlines.
Your character, trained behaviors, decisions, thoughts, emotions,
all play a role in determining stress and stressors. If you
are aware of where do you stand, then it is often easier to
move forward in life. Most of the time, most men will find
their own way to reduce stress and stressors. They often search
their minds to make life easier for everyone. Women sometimes
are do this too, but not many women can go far. All of us
have the ability to make bad decisions and this has proven
to be true for decades.
The downside of bad decisions is the impact will affect us
all directly or indirectly. So, if you have a deadline to
meet, just get yourself started as soon as possible then only
worry about everything else once the job is done.
