Thinking For Weight
Loss
Thinking Thin, Making You Thin.
You might have been struggling weight ever since you were
a child, as you attempted to find out just how many cookies
you could eat at one sitting. Or it might have developed ever
since you arrived on a college campus for the first time.
Those late nights of studying might have often led to late-night
binging sessions. Or, after giving birth to your first child,
you started to gain weight and have failed to shed off the
extra pounds regardless of the effort. Whatever cause it might
be, weight gain is a serious matter. It can affect your energy
level, your stamina, and your overall health. Obesity is often
associated with a number of diseases, including heart disease,
cancer, and diabetes.
Make a commitment to control your weight once you identify
that you have weight issues. Although this sounds daunting,
and if you have made overeating into a habit, and reversing
that habit can be difficult. Gradually, you have taught yourself
to “think like a fat person.” To combat this thinking,
you need to think like a thin person.
So, how do we do it exactly? For a start, you need to dump
your preconceived ideas about food and eating. Eating might
have become a social event for you, so, you will have to learn
to socialize without food. Just like the alcoholics, they
need to learn to socialize without beer or liquor.
Thinking like a thin person also means that you will have
to come up with new coping strategies. You might turn to food
when you are depressed, but, you need to address this issue
with a positive attitude.
There are many thin people who exercise without even noticing
it. They have made exercise to be part of their daily activity.
And you should be applying the same. You need to exercise
as much as possible. Make it part of your nature instead of
a chore. Take an inventory of your preferences. Whether you
like tennis or bowling, badminton or running, choose the activity
that best suits you. Then exercise diligently—preferably
six times a week. By speeding up your metabolism, you will
burn fat more quickly and effectively. Also, you need to overcome
any fear you have of exercising. You might be overweight and
fear what other people will think of you as they watch you
exercising. Well, in fact, chances are no one cares about
your exercise routine. Don’t let fear get in the way
of your progress.
Thinking thin also means cutting down portion sizes. This
can be hard especially when you are eating outside. But, it
is important to limit your food intake in order to lose weight.
You might want to try putting your dinner on a smaller plate
in order to ensure that your portion sizes are not too large.
You need to know that it takes time to think like a thin
person. You have probably have had years to develop your thought
patterns and changing them can be a challenge. Just remember
that to take a step at a time and understand the fact that
your weight loss will not happen instantaneously. Only with
determination, perseverance, commitment, healthy eating habit
and exercise will help you to achieve the goals of weight
loss.
