The Surprising Weight Loss Tips Revealed
A recent study has shown that people who drink diet soda
on a daily basis are more likely to gain weight, compared
to those who do not drink soda at all for over a ten year
period. Obviously, this fact tells us that the concept of
‘diet’ soda, soda with little or no sugar, fat
or calories, is backfiring. If diet soda does put weight on
you,
could the same be true of other ‘diet’ products?
Actually, this does seem to be the case. There are some other
studies which show that. Other studies show that ‘lite’
products, means products specially formulated to be lower
in fat and calories, will not help weight loss in a long term.
In fact, it even causes you weight gain. But, why is it so?
In one way, these studies may be twisted. After all, those
who use diet sodas or ‘lite’ products are also
the people who are usually overweight, so, they are also the
people with weight problem. If all these are true, then, it
is that the diet and ‘lite’ products don’t
work, not that they actually make you gain weight at all.
However, there are also some experts who say that these products
actually backfire and cause weight gain in the long term.
Now, let’s see the reason behind these theories.
First, these products may calm you into a false sense of
security. The studies have shown that people who drink diet
soda instead or regular soda or alcoholic beverages, they
tend to eat more calories food to make up for the calories
they have ‘saved’ from the diet soda. Of course,
this, in a long term, will be more overpowering that the food
you usually eat.
The same goes to diet and ‘lite’ snacks, since
they are designed to be low fat or low calorie, we tend to
eat more at other meals if we have already eaten ‘diet’
foods that day. It makes people think and feel that they have
‘done’ their weight loss regimen just by buying
and eating these foods. Well, the foods may be lower in fat
and calories, they still take their toll with nothing much
to offer in terms of daily nutrition.
Another reason is, people tend to eat more of these ‘diet’
products since they are less satisfying than other foods.
So, it makes us feel like eating more of them than we would
of a similar product if it were full calorie.
With all of the above mentioned factors, it is ironic having
to say that we should avoid ‘diet’ foods instead.
There are some exceptions though. But, at the end of the day,
it is still all up to you to be determined about losing weight,
you need to have a good exercise and diet plan combined to
really succeed in weight loss.
