When To Eat
Eat At The Right Time To Lose Weight.
Most of us begin our day with a croissant and a coffee. By
mid-morning, you might be stressed at work and you eat some
potato chips. At lunch, you’re starving again so you
eat a few slices of pizza and more potato chips. You might
be bored again by mid-afternoon so you decide to sneak in
a candy bar. Dinner means a multi-course meal of steak, potatoes
with sour cream, some pasta, and strawberry ice cream. And,
before your bed time, you decide to sneak in another candy
bar.
Of course, this kind of diet is wrong. Apart from the questionable
nutritional value of the food, there’s also the problem
of the timing of the meals and snacks. If you want to undergo
a diet, you need to consider when to eat, and what to eat.
For a start, you should only eat when you’re actually
hungry. This means you should not resort to eating out of
boredom, sadness, fear, or for any other emotional reasons.
Food should be used as fuel to help rev up your body for the
challenges you face each day Instead of offering comfort that
you need.
At some time of the day, you may notice that you reach for
a snack to take a break from your work. It could be your work
or your children, but, you need to recognize the fact that
eating for emotional reasons is a learned behavior; so, you
will have to reverse the behavior if you wish to undo your
diet routine.
You should understand that just because a person eats often,
it does not mean he or she is overeating. In fact, there are
famous diet plans that recommend eating five or six small
meals a day so your metabolism humming and to ward off hunger.
You should always plan your meal in advance or you could
find yourself packing on the pounds because of your frequent
snacks. For example, you can plan your meal this way: for
first meal of the day, eat bran cereal, a bowl of strawberries
for your second, some light turkey on whole wheat bread and
some apricots for your third, then a cup of yogurt as fourth
meal, some low-fat cheese and crackers for your fifth, and
lean roast beef, green beans, and jello for your sixth meal
of the day.
So, when should you eat your small meals? They should be
spread throughout the day with no more than four hours apart.
By having small meals you can boost your metabolism, helping
you to burn calories consistently throughout the morning and
afternoon. Generally, you should only eat when you are hungry.
A survey shows that 60 percent of Americans skip breakfast.
But, you should know that breakfast can be a key factor to
help you to lose weight, if you don’t skip breakfast,
you’ll find that you’ll burn calories faster,
hence helping weight loss.
Keep late-night snacks off because your body will probably
store the calories rather than burn them off. Changing your
nightly routine may help you to keep away from food at the
midnight hour.
Of course, it is hard to modify your eating habit. But, just
a few minor changes will help to transform both your health
and your body. If you find yourself straying, forgive yourself,
and start again. Look slowly for a diet plan that you can
stick to for a long time.
